Handed – Opening: Saturday Feb. 4, 14.00 – 17.00, 2023. The exhibition runs until Saturday, March 4, 2023. In the project room Maria Friberg’s ’Handed’ will be shown. A series of photographs which, through their references to both classic nature painting and to upheaval events in our time, express both beauty and concern.
Over the years, Maria Friberg has worked with carefully staged photographs and video works in which she comments on topics such as power relations, norms and lifestyles. In this series there is a dialogue with the painting of the Pre-Raphaelites and their involvement in the social issues of the time, in our time inevitably linked with the vulnerability of man and nature.
Maria Friberg’s exhibition is curated by Kerstin Lord. It is a collaboration that will continue in a series of exhibitions in the gallery’s project room during the spring. More info here.
