With works from its own collection, the Gothenburg Museum of Art focuses on romantic strands in postmodernism during the last decades of the 20th century. Characterised as an anti-romantic aesthetic, a remarkable amount of artists of the so-called postmodern era were inspired by romantic role models. A contradiction that makes for interesting reflections on a tumultuous time in Swedish art history. On display in the exhibition are works by, among others,Ola Billgren, Mari Rantanen,Dick Bengtsson and Maria Friberg.
